Story For this Wedding

One of the hottest and timeless trends is a formal, black and white, black tie event. Shelby and Clay committed to this theme, which led their destination wedding to the luxurious Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort. Their venue was the perfect backdrop for their all-white decor, sleek black bridesmaids dresses, and formal tuxedos for the groomsmen. This classic, chic look will always be in style.

FROM JOSEPH: If I have one tip I always share with my couples, it’s to try to slow down and enjoy your wedding day. It’s such a huge moment in your life, and it will honestly be over before you even know it. You’re going to want everything, trust me. You’ll want photos and videos to capture the day. You’ll also want to spend as much time as possible with your loved ones. And you’ll also want some time alone as a couple to soak it all in. How can you make all of this happen? As a photographer, my advice is to give your photographer enough time to capture everything without rushing or missing out on any special moments of the day. Shelby and Clay’s venue – the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort – is huge, and we needed time to move the couple around the resort.

For example, if you want to spend as much time with your family and friends as possible, I highly recommend doing a first look, and getting a lot of your formal photos done before the ceremony. That way, you can be more present with your guests during cocktail hour and the reception. My team and I will be communicating with your wedding planner throughout the day to make sure we have time for you to spend time with your guests, eat and drink, and still capture all the moments of your wedding day.
